Thank you very much for watching.
Watching is our pleasure. Thank you for transmitting!

A trace also appeared at DL0AO...

Launched the lighthouse EbNaut
Hi Alex,

this is a strong signal, but I still cannot decode it.

Hi Pavel,

your 17:00 and 18:00 UT transmissions were also received in Nuernberg. I tried to manually optimize the decoder settings, and found that both decodes became stronger when I used 1.8 seconds more delay (e.g. start time 18:00:01.8 UT). I checked my PC clock, but it is correct within 0.02 seconds.

I can not figure out how to shift the scale to 0.5 Hz
Hi Sergey,
try to enter the RX LO frequency not in the "vfo" field at the top left, but in "Options - ...part 2 - Radio Freq Offset (Hz)" at the bottom right.

I adjust the synthesizer frequency using the DF6NM grabber
Sorry my grabber was disturbed in the afternoon. At 17:07 UT I have activated a phase colour reference for 137778.000 Hz. It looks like your carrier was advancing around 20 degrees per minute, or about 1 mHz high. It went off at 17:12 UT.

All three Alpha stations are back again today (2020-03-07 12:09 UT).

Carrier on 137777.992 Hz ended at 10:40 UT.

Since 4:20 UT, we see a stable red carrier on 137777.992 Hz. Another test from Victor UA4AAV? Is Edgar watching in Tasmania?

73 and good luck!

The line at 137777 at df6nm looks strange, but N1BUG and R7NT are “normal” colors.
I have injected a reference carrier into the second channel of the "TA" colour-DF grabber. Phase results from last night are here:
http://df6nm.de/grabber/LF_lastnight.htm
Both RX-LO and audio are GPS referenced. The midnight phase jump from green to blue is an artifact due to SpecLab's phase reset at my odd audio frequency (2277.014009 Hz).

The grabber will show phase again tonight, both in the TA window (22.9 mHz) and TAnarrow (424 uHz).

Looks like RU9MN was detected at DL0AO:

Something was also seen in df6nm

Yes, the carrier was on 137776.5 kHz exactly.

To verify the possible RU9MN detection, I rechecked the calibration of the RK2Y grabber. I had thought that the two lines "#1" and "#2" were 6.25 Hz harmonics from the nearby Bryansk Loran (or Chayka) transmitter, which are expected on 137775.00 and 137781.25 Hz. However the received transmissions from UT7GH (137777.00 Hz) and UB1APE (137779.00 Hz) show that the real Chayka frequency is the weak "LORAN" line, shown 0.22 Hz above 137775 on the display scale. The #1 and #2 lines are 0.65 Hz lower, but where do they come from?

Now I think that RK2Y is using a noise blanker to get rid of the strong local Loran pulses. The noise blanker could then be modulating the DCF39 carrier, producing sidelines on all (138830.6 +- N * 6.25) Hz frequencies. So #1 is approximately 137774.35 Hz and #2 is 137780.6 Hz. Note that the DCF39 frequency is not perfectly stable.

So we see that the RK7Y frequency scale is 0.22 Hz too high, and that RU9MN had really been on 137776.1 Hz. Unfortunately this means that the weak line received here in Nuernberg on Jan 17 was not from RU9MN.

Yes, the carrier was on 137776.5 kHz exactly. I think the difference is due to a small calibration offset at RK2Y. I have changed the colours in the screenshot to make the line more visible. Unfortunately I currently have a lot of local noise from one of my neighbours (green fog on the grabber).

Welcome to Nuernberg!

PS: The callsign RU9MN is also in my opds search list, but not detected yet.

> HOW TO TRANSFER EbNaut on USA?

Hi Pavel,

Jay W1VD and others know how to receive EbNaut, but I do not know if anyone is watching now. Maybe you could  announce your transmissions in the rsgb_lf_group at groups.io.
